Well I have been very busy, we had Xander's 3rd birthday, which was really fun. Sarah is going to upload the photos as soon as I get some stuff fixed.
I have also go myself a new laptop. It is a NEC M400, which is really good, and works really well with linux. I got rid of windows and loaded up debian sarge. It work working like a treat. I also got a access point and a wireless card which I am using so I can sometimes work inside instead of in the office. I am going to put up a couple of pages so that I can create a link from www.linux-on-laptops.com so other people can gain from what I did here.
Samantha is growing so much, Sarah Mum is coming down thursday week. She has not seen Samantha or Xander since easter, so she is going to be shocked about how much that have both grown.
Xander is starting to really talk now, He is coming out with new words everyday, and you can just about undrstand him most of the time. We have registered him in a kindergarten for next, in which he is going to be going a couple of times a week.
Well I need to go, see if I can fix some more things.
Well she finally did it, last friday Samantha took her first steps, between Sarah and me. it was only about 3 steps, but she did do it a couple of times.
Also last Friday, we enroled Xander in kindergarten, so next year he will be starting 3 year old kindy.
I have been working with a new spam filter called dspam, which is just great.
There are a couple of things that I do not like about it, esp. the cgi. but it is nothing that I can't fix.
So to fix the cgi I am creating a drupal module that will allow me to administer all the users at my work, and be able to set up the view all the same imformation, but in a much nicer environment.
I have been playing with the new version of drupal from CVS. I really like the new menu system. It just makes somethings little more logical.I also got sick of the phplayersmenu not working in IE for some reason. I know that I use Firefox all the time, but I do have some IE users who visit my site. I found that I was including something that I didn't need too. I have removed that and upgraded to 3.1.5 which has a couple of changes in it. such as where the images are stored.
Well I am on holiday at the moment, and I am starting to relax a little.
We have just able gotten all the damage from Sarah's little accident all fixed. The brickies are here fixing the wall and was have all the things that were destroyed replaced by the insurance company. We got a new computer which is quite nice. We are still waiting for the car to be fixed, and Lalor Crash Repairs is giving us a replacement car until it is fixed. This will be really good.
Xander has already broken it by using the tray of the cdrom as a step. I had to pull it apart and get the try put back on the rails and fix some broken parts.
Samantha is now crawling. but just after she worked out that, she started climbing up against things. Sarah is not happy because it looks like she is going to be walking at 9 months. And if she is anything like Xander she will only walk for a couple of weeks and then start running.
At the moment Mum, Jenica and Mark are over staying, which is really good to see them. Mum just got herself a digital camera, and she is taking pictures of everything.
Well last night Samantha decided to stop rolling and go commando. so instead of rolling to where she wants to get she is now sort of crawling directly at what she wants to get too.
Xander is already having problems with her wanting to play with his toys, and now she is get to start getting there quicker.
well I have been working really hard on librbo, and yesterday I completed the alpha version. Basically it works from end to end and can do everything that you can do in asp and jsp.some of the features include
Open RBO's
Call methods
RedBack Authentication
set and get properties
user uQuery type RBO's
So basically the feature set is more or less complete and I am starting to work on the php binding so that I can reproduce all the functionality that is currently in asp or jsp.At this stage it is still very alpha, I wouldn't want to push it too hard, but once I have the binding for php working I will go back and see if I can improve some of the areas in librbo and make it alot more bullet proof. If there is anyone interested in thisjust email me, and I will see what I can do.
Well little Samantha is really wanting to crawl, she has learned to get around by rolling and twisting herself around to get around corners. but this is much too slow, even thou she can get from one end of the lounge to the other in a few minutes, which is still too fast for Sarah. She has started in the last week getting up on her hands and knees, but when she is getting up, she gets her knees so far and then bounces to get them all the way under. She is nearly there, so it will not be long.On the car front, I found out a couple of days ago that they are going to be fixing it, so we will have my commodore back in a week or so. I wasn't looking forward to looking for a new car.Over the last week I have been spending alot of time working on librbo, and I have just about gotten it working. I can open and close RBO's, get and set properties, and most lastly I can use record sets. There is a problem with this code, which I am not too sure about, but I am still working on it.
